Song Makes It Better

Tempers were short. Voices were shrill. It was starting to get ugly in Newark Liberty International Airport near New York, where a security breach had air passengers grounded for six hours one day this year. "Looking around, you could see the frustration on everyone's faces," says 26 years old Josh Wilson, who has stuck on his way to Mumbai, India. A singer songwriter, Wilson felt he had to act. When he began to strum the opening bars on his guitar of "Hey Jude", the 1968 song by The Beatles, heads turned. By the first chorus, faces relaxed. Some travellers started singing along, softly at first. "By the time we hit the 'na-na-na-nas'," sayas Wilson, "just about every passenger had joined in." The planes didn't take off any faster, but the mass sing-along lightened the moment."I wanted to "take the sad song and make it better'," says Wilson, "just like it says in the lyrics." What a brilliant idea Wilson! *thumbs up*
